Kalamkari - Art of hand block printing dates back to the 11th century. This is the process of dipping hand carved teakwood blocks in natural colored dyes and hand stamping them on fabric to create stunning patterns. It takes an artisan about 20 hours to carve a simple design on a 6" block that is used to create a particular pattern. This 100% cotton table runner is hand block printed by our artisans from Krishna District of Andhra Pradesh. Beautiful traditional print on one side gives it an ethnic look and geometric pattern on the other side gives it a contemporary feel, making this reversable table runner suitable for all occassions. Due to the nature of this technique, there will be subtle variations in print and color saturation, making each piece unique. We recommend dry washing it the first time. And then cold water handwash with shade drying subsequently.
